The recently launched project “Career Planning for Dynamic Economies” (SELFIE) aims to develop a new model of career planning education that supports the acquisition of key skills among high school students, enabling independent career planning beyond formal education environments, and to support teachers in facilitating students’ learning in various learning environments. SELFIE is funded by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union and the consortium is composed of the following 5 partners: LMETB (Ireland, leader), CARDET (Cyprus), JKC (Lithuania), Municipio de Lousada (Portugal), and UPB (Germany).

The project consortium held the first SELFIE project meeting on November 11-12, 2014 in Navan, Ireland. During the kick-off meeting, the project partners discussed issues related to the management of the project and set the groundwork for the different phases that the project will follow. Special attention was placed on the upcoming phase of the project, which will consist of data collection and research with respect to the state-of-the-art in each participating country as to curriculum guidance practices in secondary education. The partners agreed on the research framework to be followed, as well as on upcoming deadlines related to the project.
The next project meeting is schedules to take place in Cyprus in early March 2015.
